Chemical Competent Cells

Luminous BioSciences provides different chemically competent E. coli cells suitable for transformation in a wide variety of applications. We provide the following competent cells:

• E. coli DH10B - Cloning and High Efficiency Competent Cells
• E. coli BL21 - Cloning Efficiency Competent Cells
• E. coli BL21 (DE3) - Cloning Efficiency Competent Cells

Highlights

• Transformation efficiency: 1 - 3 x 107⁹ cfu/μg pUC19 DNA for high efficiency or 1 - 3 x 10⁷ for cloning efficiency
• Supplied as single use 50 μl per vials or 100 μl per vials
• Efficient transformation of unmethylated DNA derived from PCR, cDNA and many other sources (hsdR)
• Activity of nonspecific endonuclease I (endA1) eliminated for highest quality plasmid preparations
• Resistance to phage T1 (LBS 5-alpha)
  
• LBS 5-alpha and DH10B cells are suitable for blue/white screening by α-complementation of the β-galactosidase gene
• BL21 and Bl21-DE3 cells are suitable for expression of recombinant proteins
